Port Royal Club

The following Rules and Regulations have been developed over many years. Each Member is expected to observe the rules. Infraction of any rule may be reported to the Board of Directors. The Board will impose such restrictions upon the exercise of Club privileges as in its judgment may be deemed necessary. Suggestions for changes will be welcomed from any Member in writing and will be carefully considered by the Board of Directors. The Port Royal Club staff is dedicated to serving our Members and guests with courtesy and respect. All reminders from the staff of the Club Rules and Regulations are an important part of their professional training. Please consider this at all times. 


All facilities of the Port Royal Club are for the exclusive use of Members, their families and their guests. 



Tuesday through Sunday*: 7:00 A.M. – 11:00 P.M. 

*Open on Mondays when otherwise announced, i.e. certain Holidays 


Tuesday through Sunday: 7:30 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. (CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST)* 

Tuesday through Sunday: 12:00 noon – 3:00 P.M. (LUNCHEON) 

Tuesday through Sunday: 5:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. (DINNER) 

Benbow’s Bar is open until 11:00 P.M.

 *Breakfast is available November through mid-May

Summer Hours Sundays from mid-May through October: The Club closes at 3:00 P.M 

Mid-July through mid-August: The Club is closed 


Cell Phone Conversation 

Cell phone conversation is restricted to the beach and parking areas only. Cell phones must be in silent/mute mode in the Clubhouse and poolside/beach deck. 


Smoking is restricted to the beach and parking areas. 


Port Royal is a family Club. Children are welcomed and will not be subject to guest charges. In these Rules and Regulations children are defined as twelve years of age and under.  


No pets of any kind are allowed on the premises. An exception to this rule is the use of a service dog. 


No gratuities of any kind shall be given to any employee of the Club by Members, guests or their families. Acceptance of a gratuity by any employee may cause his or her dismissal. Appropriate salaries and bonuses are paid to the employees through the operating funds. Members will be given an opportunity to express their personal appreciation for the service of the Club personnel through a special Appreciation Fund which will be distributed twice a year to all employees, excluding the Club Manager. 

Exception: Valet Parking attendants and Massage Therapists may be given gratuities at the time their services are rendered. 


All Members and guests are required to comply with the Club dress code. 

South Terrace / Rogue’s Rest / Benbow’s Bar Daytime (Prior to 5:00 PM) 

Men: Collared shirts, turtlenecks, slacks or knee length shorts 

Women: Appropriate attire 

No fitness attire after 11 AM 

Evening (After 5:00 PM)* 

Men: Collared shirts, turtlenecks, and slacks 

Women: Appropriate attire 

*May 1 – October 31 (After 5:00 PM) 

Men: Knee length shorts permitted on the South Terrace and in Benbow’s Bar. (Not to include Rogue’s Rest) 

Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter Buffets Friday Evening Seafood Buffet (North End) 

Men: Jacket and Tie, Slacks 

Women: Appropriate Attire 

Poolside/Beach Deck Dining Daytime (Prior to 5:00 PM) 

Men and Women: Shirts, covered bathing attire, shoes at all times, casual wear, tennis attire including ball caps/ball hats and visors. 

Evening (After 5:00 PM) 

Men: Shirts / Slacks or knee lengths shorts 

Women: Appropriate Attire 

Examples of inappropriate attire for the Clubhouse/Poolside/Beach Deck: Blue denim of any kind, tank tops, thong style bathing suits, halter tops, short shorts, clothing with offensive language, sleeveless shirts (men/young men)  

General Dress Code Exceptions 

1) Relocation into the Clubhouse from the Poolside/Beach Deck due to weather 

2) Costume / Theme / Private Parties / Events subject to the approval of the Club Manager or designate
